As a point in fact, we are well well past irreversible damage with global warming, even if we cut it all now, which we won't. We won't even reduce it, it will continue to increase, and there was never any doubt about that sadly.

And yet, every moment we don't cut it, the irreversible damage will continue to get even worse. So we can't even say "oh well, too late to worry about it."

bedwyr@piefed.ca · -1 pts · 4d

No, but lying to people that it's reversible is counter productive as well. Try using the truth I would suggest to our activists. That way one retains credibility.

The feedback loops are what is going to swamp us, it will snowball, the co2 and methane in the permafrost alone has more greenhouse gasses to be released than is in the atmosphere, 2x co2 just in the siberian permafrost to say nothing of their huge frozen swamps that are methane sinks.

By all means we should reduce omissions, and not just for warming but to reduce pollution that harms life. But it's not looking good and catering to the good news only crowd that can't handle the truth loses more support than it keeps.

It's not displaying right on my phone, so I keep going back and forth on whether to leave it up. Hopefully it looks fine for everyone else

Everyone here needs to watch the Harley Quinn animated series, specially the guy that thinks Ivy + Harley is hot

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 4d

Plus her whole thing with Harley Quinn is just hot. Let's be real.

Honestly thought. We Don't have magical plant powers and they can suppress violence just fine. Sure, sure, we can get some "lucky shot" here and there but, most of the worst-one have army of mercenary to cover their ass. In the long termn proper instruction and free news can do way more damages. Ofc the pigs have their hands all over these two things, but this is a greater motive to fight to freed them and give it to the masses. And if anything fail, then, playing as the sidekick of SuperMario is always in the realm of the possibilities.

@NickEast_IndieWriter @comicbooks @humor@fedigroups.social @humor@lemmy.world @aiop I never liked superhero comics. I rarely read American comics, most of the Comics I read are from France and Belgium, some from Germany and from the rest of continental Europe, a few from the UK and even fewer from the US. All those superhero stories are incredibly silly IMHO. Especially the ones where the superheroes are rich white people like Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark. And most of the supervillains actually have a point and should be the real heroes.

This is probably why I enjoy Watchmen and The Boys so much.

NickEast_IndieWriter@mastodon.art · 14 pts · 4d

@reader Batman was a billionaire whose hobby was beating the mentally ill within an inch of their life, I wouldn't trust his opionion on anything.... 😁

I always considered Poison Ivy a misunderstood hero. And Batman a prick every time he fought her.

Writers didn't resarch the possible outcome of her using a really poisonous plant on Batman, like ricine. He would be dead. 😈

For me she was a very interesting character like Swamp Thing.
