Latest 2.49 update seems to mishandle characters in search

Tested with multiple keyboards. Characters like space are replaced with %24. Semicolon becomes %3. I think percent signs becomes %25. I rolled back to 2.48.5 and the search function works fine again.

Is this an okay channel for bug reports or should I submit them on github?
