Unlike with other AI companies, this is opt-in. It is yet another pane in the slew of "do you opt in to anonymized diagnostics" you see when setting up your iPhone, where you can select "Yes" or "Not now". "Not now" in Apple's case means that you can enable it later in Settings > Privacy.
Makes me glad that from the get-go, I have turned Siri off, buried the app icon and just never think to even have an idea that it's something I'd use. I've turned the blindest of eyes towards it.

Pretty old by now, but it occurs to me it's interesting timing coming as they enable always on recording (AI day overview) for the watch.
