I have a fixation on cults I tend to get super intrigued by cult-leaders, anyone else has this and or can explain this to me? Besides a medical confirmation on ASD, I suspect I might have some narcissistic related personality (traits?) too, I deem self-aware narcissism as possibility. A therapist once ruled it out for non-scientific reasons, she had also ruled out autism for having "to good eye-contact" (translated), I suspect I might be correct on a narcissism related self-diagnosis too, I have heard from someone close I overestimate myself, also, I obsess with "self-mastery" "transcendence" "enlightenment" etc. which might also just be coping for the autism experience of being misunderstood and wanting to transcend that.

Anyone reading this seems alien to me. Hi (?)

AI told me it's probably just a misalignment between what I know I theoretically can do, and what I practically can do, within a world causing me shutdowns. (Rather than narcissism)

I aaaaaa, I intensely, and share, I hi, "overwhelmed" and now notice myself expressing myself like a weird autistic, which I didn't do when I masked all/most the time, apparently I somewhat learned to hate authentic autistic expression which "sucks". Today I sucked on a lollypop I was gifted by my neighbour which I told her I wouldn't eat I usually eat whole foods and bla bla bla

This sounds like a common autistic experience. I brought similar concerns to my therapist because I was terrified that I had been harming people without knowing it. Her response sounds super trite and I didn't believe it but she said that the fact that you are concerned about this is an indication that you are not a narcissist (both in terms of clinical and popular definitions).

suspect I might be correct on a narcissism related self-diagnosis too, I have heard from someone close I overestimate myself,

Ooooof, that just sounds like they are being mean or judgey.

also, I obsess with "self-mastery" "transcendence" "enlightenment" etc.

That sounds pretty normal. I've been introduced to the poorly named concept of optimization OCD which might fit what you are describing.

which might also just be coping for the autism experience of being misunderstood and wanting to transcend that.

This is what I think it is in me. Before I knew I was autistic and before I knew what masking was I was sure I could fix whatever was wrong with me by just trying harder and mastering all the self help, pop psychology, etc. I never apply the idea of "bootstraps" to anyone else, but I'm a different story!

I do think one of the main reasons allistic people may see autistic people as sometimes displaying narcissistic traits is that they are speaking a whole different unspoken language than us. There are signals of safety and belonging people give each other and those are very hard to crack and adopt if you are autistic, almost by definition! I think it's kind of like saying someone who can't read english is illiterate even though they can read in the language(s) they are fluent in.

The website this morning was hellllllll. Constant sadness.

The back back room is looking better. We just need the "mattress" taken out. I say mattress in quotes because it can fold over. It's the size of a mattress. It was used as a mattress.

It is very sad.

Anyway, that goes out in a few weeks at the next bulk pickup. Then I can get to the rest of the room and get it fully cleaned up. And we'll have a room back! Yaaay!

I'm developing a bit of a crafts supplies addiction. I was in target and I bought a $4 kit of scratch off art for kids. It's like coloring without selecting any colors. Perfect to bring on the plane, because I wouldn't bring a bunch of markers and stuff on a 2 day vacation.

Had to reverse-engineer part of a PCB today. While kinda fun, my head hurts after hours of following traces and vias and all that. Can leave early though, which is great for days like this.

I am simultaneously wildly jealous and happy for you.

Thanks! Getting it done and "understanding" what someone else designed and how everything interconnects feels very rewarding. And there's almost always something new to be learned in the process.
