Thousands of independent truckers did stage a strike in 1979 when the Iranian revolution caused a global disruption in oil supplies. Truckers who tried to defy the strike and continue delivering goods were shot at and targeted with stones in 20 states, according to reporting from the Washington Post at the time.
A protest won't start oil imports it'll just raise the price of literally everything, it's a recipe for hyperinflation not done thought out plan to reduce prices through meaningful third party mediated peace talks.
Trump admin is not interested in peace. They're interested in making everyone be in awe how big their dicks missiles are. If we want them to behave differently, we need to force them to. This is one way it could be done.

Most likely a violent retaliation but if you're saying they could simply ignore it that's a pretty ridiculous statement. Politicians always have to care about their base. They don't have a choice because they only stay in power because people let them. If people can't buy food that's not going to remain true for long.
All the money in the world is meaningless if you can't use it to buy goods because they won't get where they need to go.
Catastrophic or not they don't care and no protest will change that, they'll drop CDL requirements and hire wherever fucking moron signs up and slap them into military and publicly owned vehicles to fill the gap.
All the money in the world let's you avoid nationally based shortages, this will literally not effect them they could take a private jet to the store in another country every fucking week and not notice the difference especially the ones doing it on the public dime.

An ineffective protest isn't going to do that, it's going to give them reason to declare martial law and stop elections exactly like they fucking want. But no no hurt the billionaires with their private security and not being in the country most of the fucking time.
Yeah I knew what you meant. I guess maybe it could go down internationally but the price at the pump is not going to go down if fueling stations cannot receive more fuel.
