I just listened to podcasts mostly. I get the point about speed, but I never really did any "slow talking" podcasts. Iirc there's science that agrees with you, that you have to hear fast talking specifically to learn to understand fast talking, that a strategy of slowly turning up the speed doesn't work as well as you might think.

Instead I just paused (to give myself time to collect my thoughts) and replayed bits, and it didn't take as long as I thought to get to a point where I don't need pausing or replay. I also did a lot of reading aloud.

People can come up with plausible sounding explanations, some rooted in whatever level of neuroscience they have, but the truth is we have no earthly idea about how the brain stores memories in different ways and especially why. Best we can do is damaging different parts (or more usually looking at people's brains that got damaged naturally in accidents) and seeing how people's behaviour changes, and experiments on the brains of much smaller animals.

TBH your doctor is unlikely to have any idea how to help. I suggest going to your local university's physics department, especially if they have a low temperature lab

Maybe the strangest part of this is holy Roman empire and Prussia separately. Most of it makes sense to me. Interested in the two enclaves, I'm guessing HRE princes loyal to France?

This. I know of the following debates:

  • This house believes women's colleges should be razed to the ground

  • This house believes in athletic over aesthetic education

  • This House will in no circumstances fight for its King and Country (passed by quite a large margin !)

  • Whether the House should refuse to view anything at all with concern, apprehension or alarm

  • Whether conventional morality was of any use to this House

  • This house believes the Church should be disestablished and disendowed

They've been ragebaity for over a century to basically everyone. The whole point is to debate edgy topics.
