“Not the Oklahoma Standard” : Lawsuit filed over abortion ban after fatal fetal diagnosis

Hoffman said doctors told her her daughter would never be able to leave the hospital because of a fatal fetal diagnose.

“Which means that your baby is not compatible with life,” Hoffman said.

She said doctors gave her the option of continuing the pregnancy and providing comfort care after birth or leaving Oklahoma to terminate the pregnancy.

“The anatomy center basically told me that I had two options. I could leave the state and terminate the pregnancy, or I could carry to term where I would deliver her here, and my husband and I would just have to wait and watch her die.” Hoffman said she ultimately decided to leave the state. “So I knew immediately that that was not the option that was right for my family and my husband completely agreed with me.”
