Denmark and the U.S. already have a long-standing security agreement that has allowed the U.S. to deploy forces in Greenland, and it was not immediately clear how this deal was different from that.

It's possible this is one of those nothinburger 'yuge deals' he likes to parade around to stroke his own ego and make his cult cheer.

Based on what has been said so far I wonder if the main benefit was tying the agreement to Greenland instead of Denmark, so that it would remain in place even if they gained independence.

I mean without the public having seen the deal yet, from what it seems like, the deal contains the exact same thing as the last deal from 1951. So basically exactly that. But hey, he can try to spin it as a win to his base.

He'll get it to for all the noise countries make they sure cave to him fast. I get it though thrybarr dependent on America. Could youbimafine if America sanctioned a country it would go dark.

The Danes need to reject this. It was announced there was a CIA pressure campaign. This is corruption.
