Tassie is worth the visit. Its a place where in a days drive you could feel like you have passed france, canada, australia, UK. The scenery is diversely stunning. My eyes have never said wow so much. It feels like the end of the world. Breathable and quite unspoiled.
And of course the nature, I got too see a mamma wombat and her babies...SO cute, and Echidnas and Platypus. I didn't see a devil.
Its quite unique. Very calm. Very humble spot. I'd choose a trip there over sydney/GC etc any day.
I went looking up their disposition and saw a number of sources claiming their bite strength to size ratio is second highest of mammal, second only to the Tasmanian Devil.
On the other hand, I found this older article about an Aussie politician trying to push for them as pets. Interesting article that looks at both sides pretty fairly.
