Texas State Board of Education approves controversial curriculum that Muslims call discriminatory

If you hadn’t noticed, the republicans in charge of Texas are doing away with public education. It will be interesting to see if they have enough sway/power to impose their curriculum “guidelines” on private schools as well.

The advocacy group Americans United for Separation of Church and State said in a release the new standards "extol Christianity's historical influence while treating Islam with hostility" and claim they violate the U.S. Constitution.

See, and this is what a lot of people simply do not understand. That, up there, is exactly what a lot of these Christian fascists WANT, and they're making good headway on convincing a decent amount of more mildly conservative CoC/Evangelical/Southern Baptist people that they want it too. They WANT to treat other races and religions with utter contempt, to train their children and yours to look down upon anyone who's not the paragon of American Muscular Christianity. They WANT to violate the Constitution because they think we shouldn't have it at all, because you shouldn't be guaranteed ANYTHING other than what you are so graciously afforded by God and the church.

A last-minute amendment to remove the word "brutal" in describing "military campaigns against Jewish and Christian tribes" failed.

note how they have to accentuate this brutality, but ignore the crusades and all the other crazy brutal shit the christians did for centuries.
