If only he hadn't screwed the pooch so badly that the crazies are going to win the next presidential election and afterwards back down on France's support of Ukraine.
It’s a bit bonkers that in France, both the far right (obviously) and far left (because idiotic, historically and politically inaccurate takes on Stalin being “communist” instead of, you know, an authoritarian dictator, and by extension, the beatification of the USSR as a communist paradise instead of a despotic oligarchy, and the Russian Federation as the successor state thereof) are Russophilic Putin apologists/enablers.
The bit on the left shares a frustrating yet common thread with leftist protests I’ve gone to in the states, as invariably, once the event reaches a certain size, some cohort of dipshits will trot out a Soviet flag that has Stalin, Mao, and Lenin silk screened onto it, and then plaintively wonder why the proletariat don’t leap to their aid, because why would anyone have a problem with a big fucking banner that includes two of the most oppressive and despotic leaders of the 20th century who called themselves “communist”?
