And even in the draconic universe, the one constant about humans remained: boomers and their shitty idea of what a wife is.

WheeGeetheCat@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 2y

Boomers: Lets make wives the butt of every joke.

Also Boomers: skinner meme Why are our wives divorcing us? Could we be the problem? No, it's divorce that's the problem.

I'm 30. My girlfriend is just like that.

Perhaps it's just that women never change.

Some boomer humor right there. "I insulted my partner in front of our friends and now they want to GASP talk about it!"

Lord.

GreasyTengu@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 2y

wife bad

golf good

MJKee9@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Uhh. Speaking as a married non-boomer (in between genx and millennial) the interpersonal faux underlying the joke is spot on. Not sure why you are limiting it to "boomers."

iheartneopets@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Beacuase, like it or not, that's where a lot of these types of comics strips originated, or at least grew into their most recent popularity. If you don't resonate with it, great. A generation isn't a monolith. But that also means that it, as a name, isn't referring to you.

MJKee9@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

But didn't your op assume a generation was a monolith? You're speaking out of both sides of your mouth.

iheartneopets@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

I don't know what you want me to tell you, as I've already explained, it's just the name for the genre of comics/style of humor that this represents. I'm not the one to take it up with. Go fight culture at large.

I assure you that delicate sensitivities are nongenerational, ffs.
