Because most people traditionally read: left to right then top to bottom
Because there is a reddit sub called "r/youdontmattergiveup" which is just posts that you read wrong
And this is not the origin
or "/r/dontdeadopeninside
Both exist. One is for posts that's are meant to be read horizontally and one is for posts meant to be read vertically.
There's also a 3rd one for posts that don't make sense if read in the wrong direction, but I forgor 💀
For those wondering, yes its deliberately fake. 🙃
