I've seen FFUpdater recommended a couple of times, but I'm unsure why you would need this updater if youve installed your browser from F-droid and update your apps regularly. Does FFUpdater do anything special?

F-droid is a bit slow rolling out updates as they recompile everything themselves. The only reason to use ffupdater would be to speed it up, I suppose.

I just installed it to have a look for myself - there are a couple of browsers available to download through FFUpdater, that aren't available from F-droid (Iceraven and bromite, maybe others too, I didn't check them all), so that's another reason for installing FFUpdater, if you want to try those.

Bromite is dead. Cromite replaced it.

Cromite isn't included in FFUpdater, though, but it does mention that bromite is no longer maintained.

There are so many different "privacy browsers" for Android, that it can be hard to keep track of them. FFUpdater is the one place I can find all of the good browsers, as well as information about each (including Warnings on why you may not want to use them).
