But look at how many people named after airports (and grade schools) became president. It's like a shortcut to success.

FlyingSquid@lemmy.ml · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Yes. His name was President Ronald Reagan National Airport.

Serinus@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 2y

Oh, the airport is just named "National". I think the rest is a typo.

teruma@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2y (3 replies)

I share a name with a local airport. It's pretty embarrassing.

The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website · 10 pts · 2y (1 reply)

That's nothing to be embarrassed about, La Guardia.

pascal@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y

Which is probably the worst airport in New York. But I'm always fascinated by the name.

For who doesn't know, it can be translated as "the guardian" or "the guarding".

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 8 pts · 2y

I'm sorry to hear that Salt Lake City International Airport. Who calls their kid that? It's just cruel.

Barack_Embalmer@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y

I always wondered why they decided to honor the memory of John Wayne Gacy by naming an airport after him.

tslnox@reddthat.com · 5 pts · 2y
