sees they are reading a mystery novel

"Oh man, have you figured out it was the butler yet? I mean, what a twist!"

I hate when I'm reading a book, and someone talks to me so I put the book down and reply, then try to go back to the book and they just keep going on everytime I start reading again -_-

So what is the book about?

Interesting! Can you elaborate?

Who's the author?

it not me

If you see me reading a book in public you are absolutely invited to strike up a conversation and nerd out with me about it. I wish we had better mechanisms than body language to signal this!

Yeah for sure, nothing like discussing shared interests and new ideas with randoms. I'm shy as fuck but that's such a pleasant, low stakes interaction.

I was gonna say its perfectly fine for me in public. If I wanted uninterupted reading I would be at home or a library or something.
