TIL that the Latvian man Jānis Pīnups evaded the Soviets invading Latvia in 1944 by hiding in bunkers in the woods. He stayed hidden for 50 years and came out when the Soviets left, age 70.

Jesus, he just became a hermit. Good on him to not get caught, can't imagine what they'd have done to him.
