A question for parents. Have your kids ever "caught you in the act" and what did you tell them?

I told them "Sweetie, it's normal for depressed parents to get up in the middle of the night and eat a huge slice of chocolate cake. Go back to bed. No you can't have any."

It's bad catching your parents in the act.

It's worse catching one of them in the act.

My back was to the door and we were still covered. 11 yr old daughter opens the door presumably to say goodnight and stands there in the dark. I turned and said, “goodnight!” She just backed out and shut the door. We went on about our business. Lol.

OP why do you ask? Is this a situation that happened to you?
