I definitely agree with you there. Finding the communities is not easy.

I think when I first started I went through a 411 list and just started adding things that sounds interesting. Many of them still haven't had any content since I joined, but if they ever do, I'll catch it.

I also follow /new communities, and every now and then I'll join a fresh one if it sounds fun. Again, they may not go anywhere, but I'll know if they do.

Otherwise, I search for things when they randomly pop in my head, or if someone else on here mentions one in particular. Or if I'm bored, I'll switch to all and see if anything catches my eye.

I've been conflicted about Sanitation for a while.

On one hand, it's more content. I open Lemmy, and I see a dozen articles that wouldn't be there otherwise. Sometimes they interest me, and I read them. In that case, I suppose I should appreciate that it was shared at all

But on the other hand, all those posts rarely turn into conversations. Sanitation isn't hanging around to talk about what they found, they're already looking for the next batch of posts to steal. I've put a tag on them, so even if I do end up reading one of their posts, I avoid voting and commenting. At worst, I'm talking to a robot, or at best, I'm just yelling into the void.

I've never gotten so many reports at once. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Come on people, hating something without understanding it sounds like something religion would do.

This stays up as a reminder to check your sources!

I flip back and forth between retro games and Indy-esque games on Gamepass.

Right now I'm working on 7th Saga on SNES and Black Jacket on Gamepass.
