My microwave doesn't have buttons. Can someone see if 199 is three minutes and 19 seconds, or 159 seconds?
Just tested it on mine, it seems you wait 159 seconds lol

Basically the smaller two digits always count as seconds and when they hit zero, it subtracts 1 from the larger two digits and carries 60 seconds over.
This hurt my brain so badly I had to walk over to my microwave to figure it out.
I was like "are people that dumb that they'll type in 100 seconds and the microwave just changes it to a minute instead"
But then I realized I was the idiot.

You guys use more than just the +30 button? Weird.
my latest microwave only has a knob you can turn to set the time. the microwave starts a couple seconds after you stop turning the knob. i’m in heaven
99 is 0:99 so 99 seconds. 100 is 1:00 so 1 minute so 60 seconds
199 is 2m39s yes total normal nothing to see here
But 139 is a minute less....
this is truly terrible. they’ve gone and made 99 = 139
