I vote to make it even more off center

darkpanda@lemmy.ca · 47 pts · 2y

And adjust the aspect ratio so it’s skewed slightly.

Fuck_u_spez_@sh.itjust.works · 15 pts · 2y

We should make each spoke replaceable and upgradable.

JPAKx4@lemmy.sdf.org · 13 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Rotate it into the 3d plane

uis@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

4d volume

It reminds me of those hydraulic pumps that have the off set gear thing to smoosh the fluid in and out.

Nah, that's a Wankel or rotary engine. The spinning Dorito of bye-bye money

Prandom_returns@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I'm prety sure a Wankel engine is specifically the rotary internal combustion engine, that has only 3 'corners'

jagungal@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Yeah, it looks like a Dorito because it has 3 corners

Sure, thanks for pointing this out. I have replaced it with a picture of the logo from the framework github.

dauerstaender@feddit.de · 5 pts · 2y

Thanks champ

Its like that to represent how the parts will fit together after diassembling the laptop more than three times.

sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 2y (8 replies)

When they put a good keyboard in their laptops then they can have a centered logo.

MMNT@lemmy.ml · 22 pts · 2y (4 replies)

What's the problem with the keyboard? I haven't heard about this.

ReveredOxygen@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 2y

I prefer it to the one on my dell laptop

sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It's just a normal laptop keyboard, which means it sucks. Thinkpads are the only laptops I've tried with nice keyboards, though the newer generations aren't as nice as a few years ago.

If Framework makes a laptop with 2+mm of travel then I'll be all over it. But I bet Lenovo will make a modular Thinkpad before Framework makes a thicc keyboard.

henk@waag.social · 3 pts · 2y

@sentient_loom @MMNT the absence of TrackPoint prevents me from completely switching to a framework laptop.

PainInTheAES@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

I quite like the keyboard especially coming from one of the MBPs with the shit keyboard.

swag_money@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y

a keyboard with a trackpoint 😎

Grass@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I want a switch hotswap mechanical keyboard with a linear layout option. They can make the laptop thicker.

sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2y

That would be so good. I'd be happy enough with low profile switches and keycaps as long as I can swap them out and customize the whole typing experience.

This is the kind of extreme customization that somebody has got to pick up on.

It’s a oil pump

vynlwombat@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

I thought framework components were easily replaceable
