Get professional help please.

If this is something you actively experience, know that it is not normal and it is something you can get medical assistance for.

I thought it was normal for the first 30 years of my life. Now I'm much better and laughing at memes

So, research shows that everyone's voice inside their head, no matter who they are or where they're at, is profoundly negative.

Also, you don't have to believe it--which is oversimplifying, but that's the jist of it.

It's not at all unusual.

Now, yes.

A few years ago? No.

Now I just laugh at memes about it

I feel personally attacked

Realdeal@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2y

There is no "audio setting" for that

CptIceberg@programming.dev · 0 pts · 2y (4 replies)

You can try to think of it as someone else and even give it a name.

now that I've seen you state it, I wonder if I should call the voice my ex.

Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net · 5 pts · 2y (2 replies)

No. Don't give them that much power

peopleproblems@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

yeah I thought about that more after I posted. she still has too much power. when she/I move out, hopefully things get better

This is the right answer. But you can tell that voice, “sit down like I am. Improvement is a life-long project, with rest periods mandatory.”
