I thought foldable phones were a gimmick, but I can never go back after trying one.

I had a kid, so I switched to a phone with a better camera, but I still miss my OG Flip. Whenever they get the cameras not looking like shit, I'm falling back into those foldable arms.

Flip-style or fold-style?

The only thing stopping me from trying foldables are their price, so this is pretty cool!

How durable are folding phones? The $2k price tag has kept me away from them.

durability is ok. I had the fold 2 before upgrading to the fold 5 and thought it held up well. it started to develop a crack down the middle of the screen six months before I upgraded. I'm hoping the new folding technique will help mitigate the cracks that can develop, time will tell.

my dad, who has the flip 3 for 1k, has the crease issue going horizontally. I think the new flips have the new folding technique as well.

if youre wary, I'd wait a year and see what people say about their screens and how it's holding up. personally, i can't go back to a non-folding phone, problems and all lol

I'm not big on Samsung devices outside TVs/monitors (although expensive, definitely best quality IMO). However, I am a fan of them leaning toward affordability to the average consumer! Assuming able to root, remove Tizen, and install from custom ROM, I may look into getting one of these now.
