We just held our 2023 sprint and worked hard on improving KDE's video editor Kdenlive for three days straight.
We tackled bugs affecting grouped clips, the #effects workflow, the organization of menu items, and much more.

@kdenlive @kde kdenlive is genuinely awesome, but it runs like butt on my PC. We really need GPU acceleration on everything. Premiere Pro & DaVinci Resolve can playback video at full quality with effects, Kdenlive lags when playing back at 480p without effects.

@JshKlsn @kdenlive @kde What hardware are you using in on? I had this problem on older hardware, so I can relate, but not so much on my more modern laptop (11th Gen intel, RTX 3060 graphics).

@rolandixor @kdenlive @kde I'd argue my PC is pretty fast lol

please. please for heaven's sake **don't assume** I need it easier to use or understand (and things therefore need to decided for me) ; **do assume** I will need logical methods of *option* self discovery...
thanks to all. donated.

@kdenlive @kde Nice! How is Windows stability these days? I've been directing students to OpenShot but I won't cry if I can offer better.

A sprint in agile software development is simply a relatively short time period (a few days to a month) in which a set amount of work is supposed to be finished.
You're probably referring to a 'crunch', although the overtime is (supposed to be) paid.
limitedduck@awful.systems · 4 pts · 2y
"Sprint" is a project management term that describes a focused effort on specific goals, not extra work. It could have been extra work for them, but it would be unrelated to the fact that it was a Sprint.

To add to this: Kdenlive team members are volunteers and KDE is not a company. They do it because they want to do it.
