Pretty sure that’s a universal opinion.

I have one of these at home.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y (2 replies)

That makes me happy, those plushies are so cute! I showed the post pic to two people and both said "Ew," I think their cuteness detector is broken.

Looks like you found the first item for your Christmas wish list!

ickplant@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

For sure, and I like the earrings, too. Really cool site in general, thanks for sharing!

Damn there’s a 15” one

caseyweederman@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 2y

Yeah it never occurred to me that anyone might not think they're cute

there1snospoon@ttrpg.network · 23 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I mean. They’re basically microscopic Flying Bison.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 32 pts · 2y

HOW have I not seen that before?

HonkTonkWoman@lemm.ee · 21 pts · 2y (1 reply)

With a body like a vacuum cleaner bag & face that looks like a jacuzzi jet, they’re about as adorable as they come!

ickplant@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 2y

That's a really spot-on description.

Tardigrado@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 2y (2 replies)

No you are not definitely the only one

klemptor@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 2y

Aw relevant username

Cute, little, brown lunch bag

Zoboomafoo@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I like how they're wrapped in paper

angrystego@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 2y

That's probably an artefact of the electron microscopy preparation. Irl they're translucent and they're even cuter when they move: https://www.shutterstock.com/cs/video/clip-1039663166-tardigrade-high-quality-footage-video-water-bear

ickplant@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Noooooooooo

thisNotMyName@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Looks like someone wearing a costume to disguise as a bacteria :D

ickplant@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 2y

Now I can't unsee it, remind me of those T-rex costumes.

i want a dog sized one as a domestic robot, and various tools can come from the torso bag as needed.

IDontHavePantsOn@lemm.ee · 4 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Put a hard hat on a star-nosed mole instead.. It may not be as useful as a robot, but it will look like it knows what it's doing.

Not enough legs

klemptor@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 2y

Nightmare fuel tho

Zerlyna@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Nope. My neighbor is a tardigrade expert in fact. Retired Marine Biologist Professor.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (4 replies)

Do they have a bunch of tardigrades at home? Or marine life in general?

Zerlyna@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Nope. They are retired and spend lots of vacation time in Cabo. Used to be avid scuba divers.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (2 replies)

It makes so much sense for a marine biologist to be an avid scuba diver. As a therapist, when i retire, I will go to Cabo, sit at a café, and people watch. That's the same thing, right?

Zerlyna@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I’d say so! I’m pushing 50 and still not sure what I will be when I grow up so who knows what I will do if I ever retire lol.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

You still have plenty of time to decide :)

ThunderWhiskers@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y

It's wild that the folds in their "skin" seem to have genuine creases even.

Fucking hell, they are the most alien looking animals on the planet, they're amazing.

ickplant@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y (4 replies)

I mean, I don't disagree, but also let me introduce you to Centurio senex. Also quite alien-looking!

MilitantAtheist@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Looks like bat bukkakke porn, got any more?

ickplant@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

omg... you're not wrong.

KingJalopy@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

The bats or the porn?

kamenlady@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

They attract each other with songs and raised facial flaps... What's porn compared to that?

Release the bats!

If I were a tardigrade I'd move out from home || Why live in the shrubbery when you could have a throne? || Pressure wouldn't squash me and fire couldn't burn. || These are the things that I never will learn. ||
