Dog smell something gross, dog roll around in it

To add; it’s to mask their own scent. It’s an instinctive habit inherited from wolves that we’ve never quite been able to get rid of.

By getting smelly stuff on them; they can sneak up in prey better. Most dogs don’t even know how to sneak…. But they still do it.

We like to hike in the hills behind our home, and there are a lot of foxes in the area. Her favorite thing is to roll in fox shit.

This go around she stumbled upon a fresh pile of diarrhea.
