Exclusive: Google Pixel 8 series will have bigger batteries, faster charging

https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-8-charging-battery-specs-3340887/

tl;dr:

  • "Both the regular Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro see a small 4W bump in charging power — the devices now support 24W and 27W charging, respectively";
  • "Google’s upgrading the chip to BCM4398, which supports Wi-Fi 7, for both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro";
  • "While the Pixel 8 Pro will include a UWB module, an upgraded one at that, it’s still missing from the smaller Pixel 8"

Support for display port alternate mode is a pretty big deal given it's be conspicuously missing for a while.

Would make for a decent pocket-sized Chromebook! It's pretty amazing to see how far we've come since Canonical presented its "convergence" concept (basically today's "desktop mode") with its Ubuntu Phone (now dead): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6s6kVBIe3w

as long as the modem is better than the one in my P6P, everything else is just the cherry on top... I would like to be able to go outside and know that I can search or use gps etc without having to worry lol

though bigger battery and faster charging is always welcome no matter the outcome
