The idea that “nothing can change” is reinforced every single day by the reality of living under capitalism. We have no control over our workplaces or communities. We spend most of our waking lives getting bossed around at our jobs, with almost no ability to change anything about the way society operates. As we scroll through our feeds, we read news headlines that seem straight out of a horror movie.
That hits home.
It's why I love getting out on the weekend and helping people in my me time. I can't change society as a whole, but I can make my little corner of the world the best I can and try to teach others.
