Just finished Children of Strife, and I really enjoyed the series! I liked the first book, and now the last one the most :) The middle 2 were really cool as well.
I read Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky which I enjoyed. I now started Children of Ruin, also by him.

It's cool, he made me root more for the spiders than the humans :) but it all turns out nice fortunately.
I am not that far into the second book, but I think it's interesting so far

“Hold on, Ms. Stratt,” said Justice Spencer. “This is still a court of law, and you will remain for the duration of these proceedings!”
“No, I won’t,” said Stratt.
The bailiff walked forward. “Ma’am. I’ll have to restrain you if you don’t comply.”
“You and what army?” Stratt asked.
Five armed men in military fatigues entered the courtroom and took up station around her. “Because I have the U.S. Army,” she said. “And that’s a damn fine army.”

Thanks for the recommendation, I really liked the book! :))
I just finished the Fallen Gods trilogy by Hannah Kaner over the last few days/weeks.
It's a tale of gods, faith and war set in the middle ages.
I liked the books, after getting into the first one :))

It is surprisingly doing pretty well in my medium dark room and doesn't have obvious problems with the heatwave :))
I would like to have another one. I have the red one like in the gif but the lemon lime (i think) looks so cute as well!

I used credit card, sorry didn't mention that.
I just read them all over the past few weeks and enjoyed the series! So +1 recommendation :)
it worked for me, they refunded me the remaining days in my subscription without problems.
Featuring the balls incident
Refunds work without problems, even though I was over the 30 day refund window. At least something.

I just read "Brightly Shining" by Ingvild H. Rishøi. I suppose its more suited to read in wintertime, but it's such a good book.
Alcoholism is a theme, just fyi.
I discovered it via Dua Lipa's Book Club, which imo is worth checking out.

Idk it just seems a bit shoved in there.
Otherwise I liked it a lot :)
Yeah I was rooting for Canada in the olympics final as well
but Finland played very fair imo, so props to them! In the games against Norway and Sweden it was much rougher.
