It’s self-sustaining. They have convinced people that they don’t deserve access to resources unless they perform some meaningless demeaning labour. The job leaves them too exhausted and numb to question the status quo and do something about it. Yet, at the same time the 0.1% who is hoarding all the planet’s resources isn’t scanning any groceries to ‘deserve’ it.

That piece of porcelain sucks up all the heat from your water. Invest in a cheap plastic V60. They cost just a few euros.

Get some decent paper filters for it. I would recommend Cafec ABACA (not the plus version!) but the Hario filters work fine as well.

Ideally you want to pour from a temperature controlled gooseneck kettle. That allows you to precisely control your pouring speed. They don’t have to be expensive. Alternatively you can get a Hario Drip Kettle Air for pouring.

And most importantly buy good coffee.

I think just having a reasonable conversation and caring about her put me a tier above the average.

That’s assuming you get to the point where you are having a conversation.

Ownership versus no ownership? That's what matters.

All software is licensed, there’s no true ownership regardless of medium.

Of course interent is faster than 200Mbit, it’s 2026. 1Gbit is standard and if you’re willing to pay a little extra you can get up to 8Gbit up/down.

Also, bandwidth caps? On residential internet? WTF.

The monitor isn’t doing anything, it’s Windows doing this shit. The monitor just says to the PC “Hi, I’m an LG monitor, model number XYZ”. Every modern monitor does this. Windows then phones home and downloads a driver package for the monitor based on the brand and model, which includes this malware.

This is on both Microsoft for allowing this shit, and on LG for abusing the system.

Then again, if you’re still using Windows in 2026 you kinda deserve it.
