Yeah it's an amalgamation of a layout, raised with a big ass enter keyboard, later switched to a standard ansi and always hated that backslash and pipe had a large key? Always bothered me. After a while I got my hands on a wyse 50 keyboard and did a soarer's mod on to make it usb and was happy for awhile until they key combos resulting in other keys finally pushed me to moving on. I don't remember many but ctrl+w+e would send tab, not great when I'm crouch walking and go to open a door.
Would still love to have a space larger than 7, that 9.75 space bar was something else.. Also got me to love control below tab. Though now I don't even want a caps lock key, if I for some reason really want to use it I have key combos, both shifts works fine for me should I need it.
As someone who used to be enamored with huge keyboards I don't get it myself, I tried it because I thought it was neat and next thing I know I'm just stuck here.
Nope, this kit is just mx style and I haven't seen an alps kit, though, to be fair I couldn't find anything on it being available in black either except for one seller just happened to have it so.. going with a weak maybe into no.
I don't know much about 60%s to say if the board uses standard mounting points or not, if it could support an alps pcb.
It's been long enough ago at this point.. I don't remember. At the time I couldn't change the wheel away from being volume with qmk which might be a complete deal breaker for you. I'm not sure if that's still the case or not though, or if I just misunderstood.
I don't have any tips for lubing other than don't go crazy, lots of good videos out there showing how little you need. I liked C3s because they came with their tuning kit which is foam pad stickers and some teflon iirc. I like my sound muted so the foam was nice, especially like the small pad to put inside the stem.
I can second that their software is bad. I tried it when I got a gmmk pro in.. 2021? and immediately got rid of it and just did a qmk firmware. Doing qmk was a little intimidating at first but most of the guides on it do a pretty good job and getting firmware from their configurator was easy. I just wish the finish on mine didn't feel like an emery board, though I have gotten used to using it to scrub dead skin off.
On the note of stabilizers, yeah, I didn't like them at all and bought some C3s.

By pressing function+2, though in using TD instead of MO I do have to wait 200ms.. I like having F13-F24 on a third layer though.

A good couple passes each way and I like to taper from the ear to my forehead and over my neck too.
