Sounds like my life in my 20s (minus the LGBTQ). Unlike the current pile that we all had like so easy. What happened is that we eventually paired up so two people were paying the bills and we eventually got paid more and built equity and now 40 years later retirement is looking like a viable option. Certainly didn't feel that way 40 years ago.
Why would she hate you? Different can be attractive. Do your friends and family hate you? If you have something in particular that needs work, work on it. But if you are just your own unique individual, as we all are, own it and find the person out there that thinks you are attractive for being you.
Put yourself out there. You will never find someone while sitting at home alone. You will get rejected. That isn't a bad thing. It means you need to keep looking. Think about who you really want to meet - not celebrity, not perfection, not fantasy. What qualities, values, interests, etc. should a REAL person have that would make a relationship worthwhile? What do you offer that could make a person interested in you? What do you need to work on to make yourself a better person?
I don't know that my kids remember. They were 5 & 7 which was a bit young. They knew something was going on that day because every older person was watching TV and discussing what was happening and checking on far flung family and friends to make sure everyone was safe. I heard something on the radio and quickly turned on the TV and then woke my husband to let him know. I wasn't old enough for JFK or MLK but anyone I know who was old enough, remembers where they were for those. With the moon landing most remember who they were watching with and who got their first TV for the occassion. A couple months later we were flying into LAX and it was the first time I saw armed gunman around an airport which was quite freaky and a good excuse not to travel to the US again for quite a few years.
My point is that large events, with worldwide exposure and impact, usually are remembered quite well.
Then they shouldn't mind wearing something that indicates that they are wearing and using the glasses. If it became routine that the only people wearing them were visually impaired and if they were not recording information, I don't think people would care as much. However I would bet that currently less than 1% of people with them have any visual impairment, just moral, ethical, and social impairments.
Cool - doing things you may or may not want to or like to so that other people might think you are better than you/they are. Not cool - doing things because you like to do them and they benefit you. Almost everyone grows up into the 'not cool' branch.
My thoughts: kids aren't bored enough anymore to care about learning anything. Even poor kids now seem to have endless access to the internet and social media. They are used to life in 15second or less clips and statements. They don't need to know anything other than how to Google or AI and answer and therefore don't know when they are getting a fabricated answer. It's kind of like the kids that only eat crap food and weigh 300lbs in elementary school. Their choices might be horrible but adults made those the choices available to them. I have a nephew who want to learn cursive but his parents are against it because 'neither of them have good handwriting'. Under 30s are in a bad time for learning but they aren't the ones responsible for it. The billionaires want uneducated serfs.
I use metric far more than this chart indicates. While I might say something in a recipe calls for a cup, if I need to be specific, it's 250ml. Even height and weight I ususally know them in both metric and imperial. I was starting elementary school when the metric changeover began which made shopping confusing but eventually retail mostly caught up. I do agree with the travel distances though. Time is a much more common measurement: it will take 10min or 1/2 hour or 15 hours is more likely measurement than x km because it is specific to mode of travel: walk, bike, car, transit, plane.
Trump has to get to be a trillionaire somehow. He's only managed $10B or so out of the US government in the last 18 months. But there isn't any reason to worry about him ever paying the bribe. If he wins then he doesn't need the voters any more and they were just suckers for voting for him. He never pays a bill unless forced to.

I think people answering need to state where they are. I know some people are doing badly around here, southern BC, but most are doing the same as they were. Everyone is nervous about how Trump is going to fuck things up next. Rich are still rich. Impoverished are still impoverished and the in-between still run a spectrum of how they are doing. Not everyone is honest. One family member alternately crows about how well his stocks are doing, while saying everything is going to hell, while vacationing (expensively) for 6 months of the year. An Albertan relative is complaining of being in the poor house although he just drove his family all around Western Canada in a 350 pulling a big trailer - that was $1000s in fuel alone. Meanwhile a recently divorced friend thinks she's living the life on $70K income because she no longer has to support deadbeat alcoholic husband. My kids are Millenials and they and their friends are getting married, having kids, buying townhouses or sometimes even houses. How people are doing is very subjective. How they feel they are doing is often a measure of how anxious they are about their future.
However the median of the population isn't getting better. Incomes are only rising for a small percentage. Remember that in the good old days big businesses and their owners - not mom and pop operations - paid taxes that contributed to society's needs. Since Reagan this has disappeared, not just in the US but also Canada in order to compete. The average person's income has paid the price. All to create the billionaire class who see all workers as an expense to get rid of.
I'm all right financially, not rich but not poor, but I worry alot about how others are going to make it through.
Why would they refund the money? They know that their customers are so addicted that they will continue buying. Same with not owning digital games; the buyers will keep on buying. Complaining, yes, but buying none the less.
Trump would think her husband didn't deserve any pay since he "was a loser that got killed". That's the way Trump has treated all service people and veterans. I'm really not sure how any person currently in the military doesn't understand that they are just disposable fodder.

We got married 35 years ago just as the big wedding trend was getting going. Brides were attending Bridal Fairs to learn (be indoctrinated into) how to spend a downpayment on a house on a 1 day event instead. The "it's your big day, you are worth it" marketing is still going strong. We had the traditional wedding but at home with catered food and spent only what we had saved in cash. My cousin got married the same year and his wife's dress cost as much as our whole wedding. They loved how lux their wedding was in comparison until we bought a house and they bought a tiny condo because their parents refused to gift them any more money for the downpayment. To each their own but know the consequences of your decision. Don't go in debt for it is my advice. If I were to do it all again, I'd go even smaller and have a backyard BBQ with immediate family and the wedding party. If friends and family are a good approximation of the population in general, the more expensive the wedding, especially if there is debt or years of engagement while saving, the more likelihood of divorce within 5 years. Those who get married because they want the wedding aren't as good of candidates for long term as those who get married because they want to indicate a lifelong commitment to their partner.

One thing you are not allowed to do is to reuse your prior bags - food cleanliness regulations because leftover almonds dust from one week might contaminate this week's almonds.
