The title is also weirdly phrased to make it sound like science was wrong. Of course science was wrong. The whole process is based on realizing that our past assumptions were wrong. Every time scientists discover something new, it replaces an old incorrect assumption. These sorts of titles are how you get to the "Mainstream media/science is bogus" track.
the "Really good boy" weapon mod was one of my favourite things in the original game. Due in no small part to the fact that you can pet the dog after you summon it. Really happy excited for the sequel!
Thanks for the well thought out response! I was looking at that one. How granular is the temperature at low temps? Will it keep something nicely at below the boiling point?
This isn't surprising. Todd Howard already stated that given the choice between fidelity or framerate they would choose fidelity every time. It's disappointing that he thinks that's still what people want in 2023, but it's not surprising.
I wish, but this one is particularly hard. Storing video takes a LOT more than hosting a text based service. There is peertube that you might want to check out though!
Ori is a classic. - It's equal parts haunting and jubilant.
Death Stranding - Don't be so serious. Every song is a masterpiece.
Overwatch - It's just good fun
Witcher 3 - hey lele lelele lele lele ley!
Cyberpunk - Dark, broody, and invigorating
Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 - Absolute fantasy. If you want a VGM OST to plan your d&d session to, this is a great option
Red Dead Redemption 2 - Maybe it's partly because Arthur Morgan's story is so incredible but this soundtrack gives me the shivers. "May I stand unshaken... Amid, amidst a crash of the world?" omggg give it to me D'Angelo
There's tons more I'm missing here. But these ones stand out to me.
So one of the defenses we have against this is the federated nature of lemmy. It's not "Lemmy" that you join. It's an instance run by some people you hopefully have found to align with your values. That instance does not need to grow large on its own for the whole network to be strong and you can maintain moderation in the instance by limiting then number of members joining. This doesn't weaken Lemmy, there are other instances that denied applicants can go to and they can all interact. Think of it like a bus service where if one bus is too full, you can just catch the next one. Except the next bus is already there waiting for you. It may just be enough of a disruption to stop a hivemind from moving in and taking over entirely, especially if instances are founded on a strong sense of culture. Beehaw certainly has its own culture compared to other instances and that's a great thing to hold on to when lot's of people show up and want things to work here exactly how they worked elsewhere.
Edit: We don't WANT to host the mass exodus from reddit. But if during that exodus a bunch of people who find they like our way of doing things better happen to join us then that's amazing.
Thank you for sharing the experience, I'll have to adjust my expectations lol. Having an even heating is something I was hoping for for things like crepes or omelets. But on the other hand what I have now is a regular electric glass top, and it makes me nervous with how easy it is to scratch. Scratches can make the entire glass top crack and it's super expensive to replace. Any time any splatter happens or anything boils over for even a second if it drops onto the hot glass it INSTANTLY becomes burnt on and needs to be scraped off but you can only use special non-abrasive detergents..
Induction would suit my needs well enough for most things and I can probably adjust to the times it doesn't.
I'm looking for a hotplate or portable type. One thing I've seen people take issue with is a small heating area? Is this an overblown issue? On many of the units I have been looking at they say there's a ring that's like 4-6 inches in diameter that heats and I'd like to be able to cook evenly on a larger skillet.
It is so hard to keep seeing content that I'm subscribed to instead of youtube just deciding I've watched enough of that sort of content and flooding me with 100 videos that are tangentially related to one video I clicked on by accident.

I agree! I would love to get a carbon steel pan, but since my cast iron serves me so well I'll never really have a reason to retire it.
This is in British Columbia, Canada, fyi

And that is why I fell in love with Overwatch when it was still cool.

The main site itself is more or less down
Same. Reddit borked
Need to queue up the house building theme after that one

Not. A. Chance. I will also encourage my mastodon instance to not federate with them.
OST's are my JAM!

True, and even if there were it would be a massive pain and probably the best thing to do is not engage with twitter at all.
So what you're saying is, if I have a Twitter account and I start blocking many MANY people it costs Elon money? Interesting.

That's a video specifically about non-induction electric tops, but thank you!
