Sounds like he should just pay to have his reels telecined himself. It's a little pricy but maybe less stressful and they'll return the masters. Think we paid like USD$0.50/Ft last time we digitized some 16mm we shot.
Assuming these were 16mm prints (IIRC old school TV used 16), a 48 minute episode would be 1728 feet, so about $864 USD for a 4K ProRes scan.
Naw most VFR unguided airstrips like this don't have anything in the way of landing assistance. The idea being that they'd never fly at night time and divert to a nearby IFR airport if there's sudden weather. Like literal fair weather pilots.
And a union man, with a smoking hot wife. A war hero who then got assigned the safest job in the fleet before becoming the highest ranking NCO of an alien tech outpost. And don't forget those sexy Irish pipes.

I see the confusion by op. It says privacy-first, as in privacy is its core function not a first in its class. I think they just misread the title.
There's a vid on the steam community, guy got it to work installed on the SteamDeck mSD. Required a bunch of workarounds but it got like 30 fps.
