Hey cool. You make all the calculations you want. As long as you're supporting creators then that's all that matters. I reiterate, there are people who take great personal offense to having to pay money for anything and you don't appear to be one of them.
That doesn't change the fact that artists and creatives have no other outlet than to be beholden by their platform. Unless you're going and buying hatsune miku fanart prints at your farmers market, unethucal consumption under captitalism also means trying to find out how to provide for the staff who still contribute to meaningful art, even if that is the set designer for an Avengers slop movie.
I had this sort of sympathy until I saw how openly hostile people were in their open jealousy over talented people. I kept running into these people for years who were just so angry at the fact that they had to pay someone for their time and talent.
This gets to be a little offshooty for other things I tend to have less popular opinions on, but it's the same people who feel that piracy should be the norm. No art, performance, or entertainment should be allowed to compel payment and it should all be free. This includes people who absolutely froth about advertisments on their Youtube videos. Granted 5 ads in a row is ridiculous but peraonally I want my artists and performers to be paid egregiously and I will suffer some small inconveniences to make sure they ateast get something from me.
But I think the venn diagram of people who are obsessed with AI and the people who just take offense to having to spend money on anything is a pretty tight one.
I mean I'm not an expert but financial regulation and a functioning FTC. Being completely real I only have keywords here and no working knowledge of the links but Mamdani is already Taxing second homes that are being unused and kept as financial assets in NY which is something I feel should be modeled elsewhere. The faircloth amendment should be repealed and public housing destigmafied. And air BnB and interstate rental firms (or just any blanket asset management firms like Blackrock while we're at it)should be abolished. Those are my big general takeaways.
My basic understanding is the reason we have housing as a speculative asset is the same as everything else that's been getting exponentially shitty over the past 20 years, "if it exists and isn't generating money then what's the point of it". Housing especially was always seen as an appreciative asset, but maybe if barely supposed to match inflation rates, so you could say any money you put into equity would always carry value into present day, but some people took that to mean"I should be able to die and be buried in a gold coffin because something about compound interest" and there were a lot of financiers who took advantage to this leadded gasoline fueled delusion.
I think the most upsetting part of AI is discovering how many people were so ready for it, like they were just waiting for something to show up that they could offload their lack of creativity or responsibility onto.
I instantly lost friends because the first thing out of their mouth was 'thank God I never have to pay anyone to commission art ever again and the little guy has access to good OC art.'
I like this idea that The Young Turks exists as a vehicle for Hasan almost exclusively.
This ignores the year(s) where he streamed games to an audience of 30 people after he quit TYT.
And to be clear, your standards are referring to a normal house as a mansion. Capitalism has robbed you of being able to imagine even normal things as anything but unreachable Luxury. And your weird sense of Socialism has convinced you that poverty is the only virtue that proves your Convictions. Both of these things are lies you've swallowed from a class of people who are waiting for you to pass out in their warehouse and die so they can stop hearing your whining.
What's funny is that his house has actually been leaked and it's not a mansion so much a product of insane runaway housing costs making relatively simple houses insanely expensive in specific locations.
Lmao. I stopped watching their game content after the whole first episode of Skyward Sword debacle where Arin just invented reasons to hate the game that clearly didn't exist.
However I came back to their 10mph content after Covid because I think they started to really catch their stride once tgey got proper producers to guardrail the forced failure part of their comedy.
I think he's very smart in that way. He's also a retired cop so I think he knows if he wants to keep a Youtube channel well into retirement he shouldn't do anything to alienate anyone and stays way off that line.
Huh. Yeah I have kind of a three strikes thing. I can eat something with onion powder once, but if I do it again withing a couple days it starts fucking me up.
I got officially tested as a teen. I'm also allergic to corn and apples, which are two other incredibly overused food additive bases. I actually didn't even really feel any effects until my 20's wgere all pf a sudden I was in an Emergency room in incredible pain. It took taking the allergies seriously to clear it up because otherwise there was apparently no other explaination for why I felt like I was turning inside out every few days.
I've been fixated on the huge blind spot people have about the 90's, or anything pre-2000. Pedo, or at the very least the teen version of it, was super acceptable. 'If there's grasa on the field, play' was an incredibly common sentiment, and I think just about any male musical artist(at least the males are easier to find examples of) has at least one instance of sexualizing a minor in the 13-16 range.
ICP has a few. Nirvana has some. Beastie Boys. Pretty sure Green Day had some questionable moments. Just about all hair metal and classic rock. It was like a weird inside joke.
Not entirely clear on what the big turning point is but the disavowals started even before Me Too. Suddenly it became super tasteless to make those same comments and everyone was very suddenly never a person who would say these things.
I wanna know where you shop. I still have to run the gamut of 'I'm allergic to onions', 'does that include green onions?' '...yes.' among other key signifiera that people don't really think about what an onion is normally.
A hint, this guy used the term 'liberal fascist', this isn't a serious person.
Also anyone who gets kicked out of a DNC event mid-event probably isn't a DNC plant but I guess the DNC spending millions to out-advertise candidates he promotes could be some sort of weird funding scheme.
Fwiw I'm not defending Hasan, but it's a really interesting exercise to see if Hasan haters are even intelligible in their points when they show up.
I generally don't like Hickock45 because if you watch any of his non-gun content he likes to leave things in a hedging, vague, "all I'm saying is..." context and honestly if he can't say what side he's defending then he's kind of just being a douche.
Personally I feel a great deal of sunk cost as a late-in-life diagnosis. I kind of sympathize with both sides because I had to learn to mask without even knowing I was masking or that it was a thing I was doing. Now when I think about just 'being me' it feels impossible and like starting over trying to deal with people I've never understood to begin with.
It's tough. I wouldn't be too hard on either. For some people masking just keeps things from spiraling out of control, and for others it's an effort that causes strain the other way around.

Anyway that's my two cents.

These people were not functioning before AI.

Find the proof he zapped his dog.

Raise your standards.
Mmhmm

Seconded. Crazy little publicity for a Cillian Murpy mobie.

I really miss garlic.

It's actually a type of HPV.

How much of this is a Snowcrash reference?
