I never really stayed in one map for too long but now that you've mentioned it I do recall thinking things were taking too long to respawn during some specific mon grinding.

Z-A has definitely fixed this with more intuitive respawn mechanics, but it's got much more of a focus on battling and less on collecting this time around, so it isn't for everyone. Much more fun than the main series has been in a while though!

I agree with this so much - the end of act 2 was such a narrative high I was excited to see how they topped it!

And then they didn't. And then I stopped levelling. It wasn't the climax to the story I was expecting.

I always struggled to describe what was so disappointing but you hit the nail on the head. Starting act 3 felt like I was sent in time back to act 1 - aimlessly wandering around the map until finally stumbling across the next main story point.

As a casual player I've never found an MMO that interests me, so catering to a hardcore audience isn't a bad idea.

They've always felt like "single player games but you need help to defeat a bullet sponge every so often". I'm sure being a part of a guild makes these segments great but when you're a new player on your own they feel unapproachable.

I'd love to play a multiplayer game where players contribute to a developing story rather than repeat the same one everyone else has done. Obviously that's a ton of work so I'm not surprised it doesn't exist.

Wow of all the Deltarune discourse there is I didn't expect transgender Ralsei to be in this thread lol.

For a bonus fact about the game, there's a character whose identity has been deliberately hidden since the start and the fan base is rabidly debating on who they really are. One man's evidence is another's proof it can't be them, and anyone who disagrees is stupid.

It gets exhausting sometimes.

seems perfectly neutral

I'm pretty confident that making something free now cost money is a universally disliked thing.

we should refrain from these kind of comments until we cross that bridge

Respectfully, before a proposed change is enacted is the perfect time for comments pointing out its flaws or the issues that may arise. It's why it's a proposed change and not already in effect.

I tried playing fallout 76 when it launched. I care about story or having fun with friends, and it failed on both fronts spectacularly.

It didn't offer any of the interactive story that I was expecting from (having watched) the previous entries because you were forced to play on a server, but it also didn't commit to co-op content because you might not have friends.

What a waste.

A nat 20 is the best outcome that the character could manage in that situation, if they have no chance of succeeding then the DM should not be letting them roll. If the barbarian suggests mauling a delicate machine with their mace it's down to anyone else in the party (or the DM if they're so inclined) to remind them that actions have consequences.

Aww man, the memories of making a garden base for Botania outside my friend's Thaumcraft witch tower, across a river where your could see a Buildcraft quarry running next to someone's industrial complex... Good times!

Tried playing Cobblemon with the idea to make our own themed towns but just like you there doesn't seem to be time for it anymore :(

For just having fun with friends nothing else comes close. It's not the best at every thing it does, but it does them all well enough and in one place, for free.

It really shouldn't be used in the way big projects try to. There aren't moderation tools to help with managing huge numbers of people, and like you said the threads and forums features aren't really user friendly.

If only we already had physical identification that proves we have the right to work. We could call it a pass-document! Then we don't need to tie it to your phone which is much more likely to be stolen. /S

FFS. I've been trying to avoid engaging with politics on lemmy but every time I learn about something good Labour's done (renter's rights, recycling changes) they announce something stupid to compensate (mandatory age verification (edit: I meant that they won't budge on it, the Tories introduced it), this and whatever the hell "AI" nonsense they're doing).

I'm just so tired, man.

I've also been waiting to start this series for a long time, when this announced I was blown away by how it looked and knew I had to give it a go.

I've sunk hours into the demo (which went on for way longer than I thought it would have!) and had a lot of fun, so I'm super excited to start my slow but steady playthough!

It's an engine that puts everyone else before programmers - which is great for artists and designers as they can blueprint animations and simple things. It's bad however when the performance relies on programmers whose time is already torn between trying to do things The Unreal Way™️ and fixing bugs caused by someone doing more than they should have in one big and messy blueprint hotpot.
