The cheapest thing you could probably do would be upgrade to 32GB RAM at a faster speed like 3200mhz or higher. Your mobo sypports up to 64 GB 4400mhz it looks like. I think the extra ram would help your video processing as well.
The other thing is if you are looking to swap to AMD chipset you HAVE to swap mobo as the sockets are not compatible.
FWIW I found the string for 2FA if you right click open link in New window. Then you can read the string to import into an authenticator app from there. Had it generating codes but the codes wouldn't let me login on my app so I disabled for now. Hope they can fix this in the future.
Are you trying to game in 1080p or 1440p? Personally if I was going for 1440p I would opt for a 3070. Otherwise what you have is going to do just fine. Just don't bottleneck your rig with a crappy monitor!

You said it best, corporate greed. It sucks the gaming industry has moved to this model of selling their customers junk. I still personally value the in game cosmetics that you earn over store bought ones. I know this is different for a single player game but still frustrating
