Hopefully these terms are the least ambiguous, and cover every corner of Furry interest and history, from Disney characters (Anthros and semi-Anthros like Zootopia, or Ferals like The Lion King), to Furry Fandom characters (fursonas, Furry-created species like Protogens, etc.), to Furry-adjacent and highly-similar creatures / aesthetics (e.g. werewolves, Aeromorphs, elaborate humanoids from sci-fi or fantasy)
Relevant: Furry Film Burrow (formerly known as Culturally F'd) once coined the term "post-Furry" -- analogous to defining "postmodern art" as "anything can be art", "post-Furry" = "anything can be Furryfied / anthropomorphized"
Something like either Telegram's "Instant View" or YouTube embeds (the latter of which does already work on Lemmy with a basic URL) would certainly be peachy.
Someone simply gotta roll up their sleeves and contribute code to Lemmy (open source 👌 )
A lot of the Rules are holdovers from when FursuitSex was on Reddit. (Still is, technically -- if your community is large enough, Reddit won't let you leave. Wonder if that change was made post 3rd-Party Apps Debacle, hmmm 🤨)
And if the rules seem ham-fisted, it's for the same reason that e.g. certain machinery needs signs that say "Do Not Stick Fingers into Moving Gears" -- it's a rule because someone who did not think things through needed it to be.

reuploading someone else's lewds is almost certainly non-consensual, probably against the Lemmy terms of service, and probably illegal in various jurisdictions (e.g. what qualifies under the GDPR as "personal data"; what qualifies as Revenge Porn)
some of the most famous murrsuiters in Furry history have ragequit posting anything at all because dicks wouldn't stop pirating their stuff, including their paid content. Then how do you share Cool Person's Cool Content if you're not allowed to reupload? Easy:
Linking to someone else's post (URL on Bsky, MurrTube, RedGIFs, PornHub, wherever) is absolutely fine. You can even copy-paste the image URL from the original post into the thumbnail field. Why is this better than reuploading? Because:
If a creator changes their mind about their posts and deletes them, the linked post here stops working, cleanly avoid the issues listed above.
Rule 3 did feel a bit unnecessary here on Lemmy, I'll grant you that. But then I discovered that, in lieu of Lemmy actually having a tagging system, Lemmy-UI sites like Tesseract actually make use of that same bracket system to auto-tag posts. So I guess it stays for now.
Rule 4 almost seems unnecessary too, but I wanted to be more exact than "No Spam". And recently some chud made a "got any of them Telegram links?" post, bleh 🤦♀️
Rule 7 is essentially "don't do anything that makes me add more rules". Gus and Air Bud are two goofy live-action films where a normal non-talking animal joins a sports team because technically the rulebook doesn't say the players have to be human.
