Okay I just finished playing over an hour, I have to fully disagree with it being closer to BF. If you like Squad you'll like this, but there's no dedicated kit like BF or Squad. You have inventory management like Arma, and you have to pack your magazines. You can specialize however you want to your play style. The maps are absolutely massive. The vehicles have a lot of weight to them and overall the pacing is close to Squad and Arma. The first match from start to finish took about an hour and 40 minutes.

Obviously a lot of these games have some of that BF spirit but this game is much slower in pacing.

Edit: also I'm playing this on Arch, and the game ran flawlessly, with proton 11.

That's marketing making you see that, but yeah Squad did spawn of BF, but it's not as fast paced as battlefield. I watched an hour stream yesterday, it's got the really slow bits of Squad in its DNA.

I got an invite for the closed beta that starts today. I'll report back on which it's closer to.

Currently on Arch with hyprland, but I'm considering switching to Bazzite or SteamOS. My understanding is SteamOS doesn't support multiple monitor setups well. So that's what gives me pause on trying that.

But end of the day if what you have is working, there's not much reason to switch to one unless you're curious to poke around.

But isn't this specifically by design as well? We don't actually want to invest in Africa, we want to keep it destabilized so we can continue to exploit those countries and its people for resources. It's a form of imperialism. We can overload them with aid, they in turn have to be dependent on that aid. This then de-incentivizes those countries from putting any resources into the problems.

So yes, John Green is right. I haven't read the book, but I don't know if he talks about how the geo politics, all of this is by design. The Global Perspective: Reflections on Imperialism and Resistance by Torkil Lauesen talks to how the global south gets exploited for profits.

Okay, then being a friendly neighbor is to maybe not have a foreign nation use your country to then bomb your neighbors. If you want to have a friendly partnership with your neighbors, maybe remove the ones bombing them.

Don't get mad at Iran, get mad at the USA, Israel and your government for allowing this to get to this point.

Interesting, you ignore the fact that the presidential run in 2024 literally paraded around with Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney. By all accounts the "moderate left" rejected the "far left". They quite literally played for the moderate position and lost.
