I've had two cats who loved this and would hang out in my arms as long as I could hold them, and I've had one that hates it and would rather I just let his rear legs dangle awkwardly.
In fairness they weren't actually threatened with arson. The story notes that it was discussed online; discussing that a person should have their house burned is very different from an actual threat. Unless he has recieved targeted communication saying "we'll burn your house down dude" he hasn't been threatened.
What we have here is a schoolyard bully crying to the teachers as soon as anyone makes them sad.
Double down on "democracy is an inconvenience" probably. There will always be a reason she doesn't need to listen to {insert group she doesn't like}, as with the East Slopes anti-coal petition.
Okay so the handful of steel producers can ship cheaper, where is all this steel going that it needs a 50% gov't subsidy on shipping?
Like is this auto and aerospace industry support? Is this just making it cheaper to ship to China? Is it making it easier to buy Canadian instead of Chinese steel?
If I need a train car full of steel, shipping is going to happen by train anyways no? It'd cost a fortune by truck and most of Canada is land locked.
Just saying I don't understand the economic goals here.
Those are the very conditions where grifters thrive; doesn't mean the grift was any less obvious.
Basically the financial system and the managerial class went full hysteria mode and now they're trying to look like they are not utterly incompetent, which they are.
There's a lot of corporate heads that should roll but probably won't.

If one of the internet denizens happend to be the Mayor, maybe, but I doubt that.

They don't deserve your sympathy.
You realize they are perfectly safe while loudly stating their support for a regime currently doing the very things that happened to your friends?
That story warmed my heart, dude shouldn't be threatened, but he should also learn to read the room, geez. They deserve the eggs and dog shit.
We can dream, Eby only sees an easier majority for him and the corporate toadies I bet.
PP can't bite the hand that feeds him.
That he can't effectively stand up to the MAGA types is an admission of who's side he's actually on.
Like it's not even hard, that's why everybody else is doing "elbows up" for easy political gains.
Far too many.
Surprising no one.
It's good someone collected this data to prove it, but we all knew this was exactly what would happen.
Yeah, it's Democracy™

Ah the good ole days, when our PM handled their own assailants.
What could be nicer?
There it is, elbows down.
Expect a parade of Premiers lifting bans next week.
AI is antithetical learning, it has no place in a classroom.
So Trump's finally right about tariffs huh?
Cause Carney has chosen to pay for it...

I don't think Carney does not understand, I think he has choosen a side.
So... the ones suffering from AI psychosis are the billionaire sociopaths pushing this technology towards human extinction, right?
That's a very niche joke, I know a handful of other OH fans and none of them would get this.
I still enjoyed it.
