Because Amazon has a monopoly, price matching doesn't mean "we will drop our prices to match competition", it actually means they bully suppliers to raise their prices to meet Amazon's price.
This inflates prices of goods because Amazon is increasingly taking a higher share of each transaction, so before, when companies could offer a cheaper in-store option because they were saving on these fees, they are forced to raise their prices to keep making a sustainable profit.
In summary, the more power you give Amazon, the higher fees they can charge suppliers and the worse the price gets for you as they are forced to pass on the fees. And you won't be wiser because they control the market's price at the supplier's store and on Amazon.
I'm summarising the points raised about why they are being reported as far-right.
The NATO and "Sweden First" points aren't that big of a deal, but collectively they touch on all the same talking points of far-right parties, which is why they are being labelled as such.
Most of these political parties are being financed by countries like Russia, which want to break up these alliances and promote isolationist/nationalist ideologies.
My usual advice is to start on all the products that aren't social media first - browser, search and email specifically.
Regarding WA, there is birdy.chat that lets you slowly migrate off of WA by using a compatible client. That said, they recently pivoted toward a more business-focused approach, which is disappointing.
There is no central database, so we have to infer from what is available.
Kagi is the only paid service and so will have a fraction of the free options. The fact that their growth rate increased by 3X with 2k new users in a week is impressive.
DDG has 100m users and saw a 30% increase in their growth.
Then you also have:
Ecosia (20m+)
Brave (50m+)
StartPage
Mojeek
Qwant
Etc.
It starts adding up...
Google is not going to lose its monopoly overnight. It is also particularly damaging when they burn through billions and lose market share.

Thanks for flagging. I somehow pasted a broken link.
Fixed now - sorry about that.
This graph is pretty depressing for publishers and their ability to continue making content.

I was worried people would be scared off by a 40m+ video, so tried to focus on the most important bit :)
For those who want to finally make the switch, there are many excellent alternatives out there: https://purchasewithpurpose.io/category/browser/
Thanks for flagging - I've updated it accordingly!
There is a lot of information to keep always up-to-date, so this type of feedback is appreciated.
There is a Discord server for anyone who wants to be more involved or share comments. https://discord.gg/5JFGRsSak8
Google doesn't care if you spend money on what is advertised to you. They get paid just for showing you the advert.
A year ago, we weren't taking any steps. Now many different European institutions are taking similar actions.
Hopefully get more coverage once it is officially live.
Some names include:
https://github.com/Euro-Office
EuroOffice/OnlyOffice is considered to have a cleaner/easier user interface, while LibreOffice is a more comprehensive and mature product.
Yeah, pretty ironic that they still use a Microsoft product for a "sovereignty-focused" alternative to Microsoft.
Qwant and Ecosia would be the next two on the list.
Brave also, but people (rightly) have issues with their owner. He is a huge advocate against gay rights.

Sorry, it was in the post body. Will update post to make this clearer.
The guide for this community is exactly that.
www.purchasewithpurpose.io . There is also an infographic available on the stickied post 🙂
You're welcome! Knowing that my small part is making a difference makes it worth it.
You're also in luck, as Zeitkapsl has been busy this last year with a few decent updates.
Doing the heavy lifting for everyone here - thanks🙂
