I addition to it not being pocketable, playing on a switch in handheld mode for any length of time causes me physical pain, so I only play it docked. Don't know of the switch 2 is any better but it looks similar enough I doubt it.

I hope a dedicated handheld console is made in the future. Honestly, with all the devices converging to being different form factors of PCs a dedicated handheld with some sort of gimmick might not be too farfetched at some point

on Upgrade Arch, on a whim. · c/linuxmemes · 10 pts · 13h

Arch is the most stable Linux I've used. The only problem I've ever had is not using one for long enough that the keyring and mirrors were stale, and that wasn't difficult to fix.

installing and opening Firefox seems like a time-consuming, very bloated experience.

It takes like 2 minutes to go through the settings and disable things you don't want.

Why are you exaggerating so badly?

had a good idea and wrote a good book

I read the book after asking some junior engineers why they kept insisting on breaking straightforward tasks that could be a single pure function into a web of stateful method calls and learned they were being recommended it by another senior dev.

That book is one of the major contributors to the object oriented enterprise Java from the 90s that everyone universally loathes.

I personally think this discussion is probably the greatest thing he had contributed to software engineering, and not because it puts him in a positive light. https://github.com/johnousterhout/aposd-vs-clean-code/blob/main/README.md

this man holds no significant position of prominence within the industry.

I wish that was true but I've had to specifically countermand his teachings at 2 different companies because newbies were being told to read his book
