I actively try to avoid him and youtube still throws his or his long-haired doppelganger's videos in my feed. Its not this shitpost that's spreading his name around.

Damn, "Mumford and Sons banjoist ousts himself as conservative" was not on my bingo card.

I think it depends. Lets say you dont have an opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, thats understandable. It takes a decent bit of information to form your opinion.

But let's say you don't have an opinion on trans rights. That will raise some red flags. It should be pretty simple to gather an opinion on that.

So would I. I currently work for a public utility and would happily continue even if we had everything covered. Someones got to do it and its satisfying to help out.

From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs. Wouldn't that be nice.

Well, I think its a good thing you tried to branch out, even if it didn't work out.

Most the "non political" communities appear explicitly political at first glance to me. Like c/food has posts about the "LGBTQ sandwich" and "cracker cuisine" lol. Its going to be impossible to avoid political takes in an explicitly leftist instance.

Its a way of understanding freedom. You said socialism takes away freedom.

We have laws that restrict your ability to murder at will. This sounds like it restricts your freedom. After all, you dont have the freedom to do something.

But if everyone doesn't murder in a society, we now have more freedom. You have the freedom from being murdered.

"Freedom from" and "Freedom to" are often mutually exclusive. But, in socialism's case, I think its clear that the system provides more "freedom from" oppression.
