I'm sure that's part of it but think it's more that they just have to be contrary. They have no policy position on anything except to disagree with whatever Carney is doing. If he capitulated and signed a crappy trade deal they'd be saying he's weak and should have stood his ground.
They've already tried that - they bought one, pulled it apart to see how it worked and couldn't put it together again. There's a Veritasium video about it.
I may be missing something here, but I don't see the problem with the newer "tank-ette"s. We have a 2025 Nissan Kicks - sure it's SUV shaped, but it's not tall or have any of the issues typically associated with SUVs (I'm not an expert on these issues - happy to be educated here) - it really is just an SUV shaped car. Where I live there are lots of oversized pickups on the road, but there are also LOTS of Honda Civics and Hyundai Elantras - both still available in the classic sedan configuration.
I'm not trying to say there are not huge issues with the car industry/culture - I just feel this article is exaggerating the issue a little. Or, maybe it's a market by market thing and Civics and Elantras aren't available in the author's market..
EDIT: One other thought. If you and your wife have different phone hardware and especially if your hardware is very old, I believe that there’s hardware support required for WiFi calling support.
My phone is actually newer. I know wifi calling works on my phone because I had it enabled with our previous carrier.
That's not what I meant - I'd like be able to list stuff for sale in my community (on the other side of the world from Melbourne) and have people here see it. But the locations in the app are restricted to Australia.
I'm curious why you would make it so "local". The internet is global, if it's on the net it's accessible from anywhere. Would it be much more work for you to make it work globally?
The bike hasn't been seriously ridden yet and the battery has been cranking the engine a lot while trying to diagnose issues. I'm happy that it still at 12.4 - but I understand what you're saying.
It's hard to measure the resistance of the connection as they're corroded and messy in the back as well - but I think I can get a 0 ohm reading from each.
I just measured the stator (I know, should have done it ages ago) and have ~35-55V on all pairs.
Double checked the battery - the 12.4V static drops to 11.3V running with the stator disconnected but increases to 12.9V with the stator connected. It's not perfect, but it's working. I'm just going to ride and see how it works out.
I've never used it, but I just did a little reading. I get the feeling it would ruin the current paint and I'd need to then re-paint the whole frame. I like how it looks now and would just like to stop the rust getting worse so it doesn't become structural.
I don't mind the rust - patina. Now that I've done a test ride and confirmed that I like it I'll strip it back to the frame and clean it and put it back together with fresh greese and a fresh chain. I'll wipe it down with something to stop the rust getting worse but won't try to fix it.
I love fixed wheel - just getting into that rhythm as staying there.
I thought I'd try 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (I'm using https://1001albumsgenerator.com/ ), but it's been a bit disappointing really - I'm nearly 800 in and only found 1 new artist to add to my collection. I guess I'm just old and set in my ways.

We recently had an opportunity to apply for a grant and were brainstorming useful additions - we considered getting some jaws of life as we're quite remote and we figured it would be good to be able to get someone out of a car. The base model, including tax and mandatory training, is CAD56K! Someone is making serious money there.
Lisp is a cool language. It was many years ago now, but I recall writing a lisp interpreter in lisp for a college project. It was only ~100 lines of code and my recollection is that it worked remarkably well.

Unless they're still a pup that you got from a shelter and you need to curb your, and their, excitement a bit so they don't pee all over the floor.

It's waaaaay too big for us - we are very rural. There's maybe 70 houses in our whole coverage area. Most of our risk is forest fires.
Plan to spend $50-$100 an hour for fuel if you want to move it.

Unix like - AIX, HP/UX, Solaris. I normally write *nix and the one time I decided that's overly pedantic someone calls me on it :-)
