I’m not sure there’s enough there to suggest it’s because it’s a physical release. The game sold well on all fronts. But the fact it is a physical release and entirely on the cart does score free points.
Yeah I’m about 2 levels under what they’re giving me. I did try one but got stomped haha. But in fairness it was a pretty difficult one even at the right level.
It’s not really a complaint though. I’m enjoying it! I’d just love to have more optional side paths I guess.
Making slow progress in Splatoon Raiders. I only manage a 20 minute session or so at a time. Just upgraded up my base to level 2 and got a bunch of new upgrades to obtain. Wish the game opened up more missions though! The missions I have are exceeding my level meaning I have to replay some again, rather than pushing further in.
I’ve spent most of my time playing Terraria this week (on PC) though as I started a new playthrough. I started with an expert world before finding it too difficult and going back to normal.
I did also buy the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 upgrade pack on a whim. I’m in the middle of a new playthrough with that too but progress is going very slow. It’s getting the least of my playtime atm.
I keep trying it out every once in a while but the game feels really shallow to me. Wish they’d spend more time fleshing out existing systems instead of adding new ones that exist in isolation.
However I admire his passion and it amazes me they’re still pushing updates. I love seeing what each update brings even if just ain’t for me.
I was a a huge PSO fan and would religiously check for news on a PSO2 release. Sega then went quiet for several years and by the time it came to the West, I had already moved on. Did try it out though and was overwhelmed by the monetisation stuff and ditched it. It felt like a successor in name only.
I rarely touch my switch these days since games are mostly outside what I’m willing to pay. I did pick up Splatoon Raiders though which I’m playing now. The gameplay loop is pretty fun and perfect for my short play times!
Xbox One. Everytime I booted it up to feed the Halo crave, there’d be an update that took like an hour. Finally get on… Halo needs to update. 1 hour later, I’ve lost interest.
Not looking forward to the next GE. With a foreign partner, if they start changing the rules for those with indefinite leave we’ll have to reconsider if we remain here. But I won’t exactly blame the people who vote Reform either. Labour aren’t exactly giving people much hope. Feels like there’s nobody I can personally vote for right now outside of a tactical vote.
As gaming becomes more and more expensive I’ve found myself going back to retro. Just ain’t enough money left after everything else has gone up to spend on gaming anymore.
I’m so happy to see vaping receive the similar treatment as smoking. I still don’t know why people thought it was acceptable to blow fumes into others faces. Even had it while carrying my kid. Some people…
Some of the boss fights felt amazing once you start learning their attack patterns, but then others were just... lacking. The savage fly one comes to mind. It wasn't particularly a difficult boss itself. But when it summoned ads, it became a fight around rng. It wasn't a fun fight at all. Felt like the devs realised it was too easy and chucked in ads then left it there.
Separately, why on earth the boss doesn't receive damage for slamming down on the spiky enemy when its spikes are deployed... Missed opportunity!
Same for me! But it’s also the first proper sci-fi series I read so it’s a bit skewed haha. However, I did truly enjoy it for the most part. Wasn’t a fan of how the ending turned out as one of the events just felt… cheap. Not to mention the lead character in the third book made me want to scream in frustration…
I’ve tried other sci-fi since and I’ve yet to find something that captures me. I started the Bobiverse which is a fun take, but it’s a completely different theme. So if any sci-fi vets have any recommendations I’m all ears!
Was the same for me too. I remember getting DoW2 and being so disappointed. Then 3 came along… I’ve given up them making a decent game again.
Even that DoW remaster isn’t looking good. I’m holding out until I see the reviews but if they’re only going with AI upscaled textures for £30 then no thanks.
Same. I don’t even recall setting it up until I stumbled on it one day and could track my wife. I pulled a few pranks until I revealed my hand but we’ve never turned it off. There’s nothing malicious about it and we’re both happy to keep it on.
Just to clarify, this doesn’t mean that the game is now DRM free. They just replaced it with Enigma. I’m not up to date with what Enigma does differently but it might be important to some.
I was introduced to WoT late too but before the TV shows. I started with Eye of the World and followed it all from there.
As for the slog people are warning you about, it may help to get the audiobooks if they’re a challenge to get through. However, you’ve got a while to go before worrying about that.
Yeah, if you pirate and whatever... fair enough. Don't expect Nintendo to want to deal with you. But at least you know that is the risk you're taking.
The other group of people this will impact are those who dump (legally) their own games so that they don't have to swap out carts all the time. It's also going to suck for those who pick up a second hand console to find that their online access is restricted. I don't see an issue with Nintendo blacklisting a device from their services should it go against their ToS, but this just seems way too easy of a trap to walk into.

Universe was a step back imo but it really became its own thing later on. PSP2/Infinity is perhaps my all time favourite game.
I’d love for them to do a remaster at some point. But Sega seem to care less about that IP…

Repeat 6+ months later.

There are now subscriptions for dlc?! 💀 Yikes!
Unless you’re from the UK where their idea of treatment is getting you to give up seeking it.
