Please take care of yourself and watch out that you don't burn out. The one thing which is worse for a community than a stressed admin/mod is a burnt out one.
Your post sounds like (I am not a qualified professional, this is not a diagnosis!) you're currently in stage 3 (of 12, so 25% of the way to the end) of burnout, symptoms being Negligence of one's own needs (social contacts, rest and relaxation are no longer as important as before. One has the feeling that one cannot take time for this).
If that's really the case, try to hear your own needs and take a step back once you feel it's too much.
You could create a post on !support@beehaw.org, we'll probably see it. If we don't reply within a day, just ping me directly on here or Matrix (linked in profile). I can't promise anything though as I'm not the only one deciding on this, but as a non-default theme we can most likely integrate it after your tweaks.

most of the issues are nginx config (amount of workers, ulimits, open files, rate limits) and having to restart lemmy because it's overwhelmed and OOMs.
don't think the technical/backend admin team would scale well at the moment, but moderation is probably a huge time sink where you can help more efficiently right now. alyaza already posted the application form for moderators.

a small badge on their profile is probably cool and doesn't hurt a lot. On the R-site you got access to a special community once you got R-gold, so maybe that's an interesting option aswell.
That's what I mean. There are !reddit@lemmy.ml and !whyileftreddit@lemmy.ml communities and a megathread on Beehaw, which should be way enough to talk about reddit, in my opinion. We should instead focus on creating content which isn't reddit. I know it's hard to part, and people are new, that's why I created this thread to create awareness.

Why are you so obsessed with growth? Is it not OK if people discover the Fediverse without it being swarmed by new users? Is it the "number goes up" phenomenon?

Mid tier digitalocean droplet for 96€/month, will get more servers soon-ish after we checked the code improvements and horizontal scaling within the next weeks. No point in throwing money at a problem when you don't know in which direction you should throw (:

If I would use a Raspi as a desktop, I'd install Arch Linux ARM or Armbian on it, however Raspberry Pi OS is probably also a good choice.
