Benefit of the doubt that you aren’t asking in bad faith.

Most people aren’t demanding Mullvad fire the founder, but that also doesn’t mean that we have to give him money to donate to fascists.

Mullvad are free do what they like with their right wing founder. Just like customers are free to refuse to fund anti-immigration policies. If Mullvad doesn’t like that, it’s up to them to decide how to appeal to customers.

Nobody is denying that Mullvad is a good product, but I need this specific vpn less than I need a safer future for my children.

I am terrified of the world we live in when world leaders can act like petulant children, and it’s not even worthy of seriously reporting on.

How do people that meet this man resist the urge to drive their hands deep into his flabby neck folds and choke the life out of him? Or at least slap the dumb look of his greasy face?

The fact that this is being released in boosters entirely defeats the purpose of Secret Lairs.

This move only supports scalpers.

Thankfully the art style lends itself wonderfully to proxies. Might even run them through my decades old hp scanner for a more authentic feel.

My version of this is “casted”.

The past tense of cast is cast.

Inde Navarrette was not ‘casted’ as Rogue in the X-Men, but she was cast in the role. I’m sick of hearing illiterate idiots use that word every time some sort of movie news comes out.

My only major change would be to remove Mullvad.

One of the founders has made major donations to far-right groups in Sweden. People have argues that it’s his money to donate, but if paying for Mullvad puts money into the pockets of a major donor to the far-right, I’d rather support an alternative provider.

I have had a very similar user experience with IVPN, and I have heard people suggest AirVPN as a similar alternative.

Then why is there only one human there? What about the thousands of people who have died working in unsafe and unclean conditions to produce clothing, electronics, and the like for first world countries? I’m vicariously guilty for the deaths related to every burger I’ve eaten, but not for the iPhone I’m typing this on?

I have been on the job hunt side of things. I applied for +50 jobs in a week with unique cover letters and CVs catered to the fields I am applying for. I have qualifications and experience in the fields I was applying to.

I got three responses.

One was a scam. Another was a 2 week temp job with “the opportunity for further work”. So another scam. The last one was the only legitimate offer I received, and it paid the minimum amount it could under the award.

I can empathise with an employer not wanting to sift through AI submissions or fly bys, but all they’ve done is turn that back onto applicants. Then they act entitled when people don’t want to jump through their hoops and say stupid shit like “if you can’t write a cover letter maybe this isn’t the job for you”

It’s not just your small business though. It’s Every. Single. Application.

Could I use a template? Actually probably not as more and more businesses are asking for specifics in the cover letters to combat templates and AI use.

To the business owner it’s only a few minutes to write cover letter, but when people are applying for dozens of jobs a day, that all ask for unique responses, and quizzes, and forms that are identical to the CV you are required to upload, it gets very hard to write an even vaguely inspired response to “why do you want to sell kebabs out of my food truck for minimum wage?”

Has anyone who isn’t a paid stooge seen the man in person? Are you telling me that no journalist has snapped a pic of the turtle in a wheelchair leaving the hospital or arriving home?

“McConnell has released a statement”? Bullshit.

Hank has been an advocate for knowledge for far longer than LLMs have existed. His recent use of them is disappointing, but I fell like this does not discredit the work he has done throughout his career to push curiosity.

What he does next will be important and will decide how I interact with his content going forward. It seems like he is aware of his missteps and is looking to make a change.

I am not a perfect human and do not expect celebrities to be perfect at all times.

Probably my favourite of the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. It balanced a Peter-centric story pretty well with all the larger MCU references. My wife, who has seen half of Homecoming and little else MCU loved it, and didn’t get lost with any of the tie-ins. It created a great internal conflict for Peter that reflected well in Jean’s story. Got a little bit teary in the final Aunt May sequence.

I do feel like it could have benefited from shaving about 15-20 mins off. The movie felt like it reached a climax, and then there was another 20-30 minutes for the second real climax. Shaving some of the scenes off the front end could have tightened the whole experience. What I would remove I can’t say though.
