Shit take, but Pedobear did nothing wrong. He is a satirical character that acted as a cautionary tale, a parody of the creepy behavior. As many of the platforms where Pedobear thrived were used in parts by teenagers, i think the cautionary tale part could work as a palatable way to point out and identify some abnormal behaviors.
Quick note, i am aware that in some cases, these characters are adopted by the group they are satirizing as mascots, (example: Beavis and Butthead being adopted by the alternative/metalhead culture they were representing), but i dont believe Pedobear was the case. If anything, this is the time we need this meme the most, sadly.

I also have interest in knowing the battery life on this. My main thought is that e-ink screens only consume batteries while refreshing the screen, how does it look like refreshing it 30/60 times a second. As a big fan of e-ink i would love to own a retro handheld with this tech.

Kobo is a subsidiary of Rakutten, its not amazon but as far as i recall they are no saints either. But the devices are easily disconnected from all their BS, so at least some bonus points there.
Its all about the what and where. I cant stand city traffic, but an empty winding road feels like freedom. The car you are driving also makes a lot of difference. I personally only buy cars that are fun to drive. I had a smart roadster and now i drive a miata (mx5 where i am from).
Not a programer but working in the tech industry, i have a growing sentiment that people lack the sentiment of creating something and not just feeling like a cog in the machine. Most of what people do is busywork lacking a sense of purpose or direction. Not being a programer, even i would drop everything and live a rural life it would guarantee a stable financial life.
Its common but mostly used by people who have multiple income streams or at the time, we have a lot of people working for different countries and one way to make it legal is to be a “one person company” and accountants will take care of it. For the less tech savvy there are programs in the city halls where someone helps people do it. The person still has to do it themselves though, they just sit there with a person telling them what to do.
O M G, you really cant imagine how rural this place is! We have a higher than average carbon footprint just from all the oxen carts in the street. We have a great internet infrastructure because no one connects to the internet, so its tops like 5 people online per day and you have the whole country’s internet just for you. /s
The only reason at this point i dont say to visit Portugal is because we already have enough tourists to the point it disrupts normal day to day life in all the the major cities.
Portugal is still on the poorer side of Europe but even so way ahead in terms of services and IT/Tech.
Every one has to submit their taxes online so i don’t know how this map came to be. You see old folk quite active with their cellphones doing all sorts of stuff.
