A fresh start, and I'm currently planning to make that happen.

First step: Get promotion with pay bump [Done]

Second step: Increase client hour utilisation with work to support an interstate move and be set up with strong income flow right from the start [Done]

Third Step: Figure out where to live in the new city [In progress]

Fourth step: Move [TODO]

Hii everyone!

I'm thinking of moving to Melbourne this year from Sydney, and I've just started doing my research into the different suburbs etc. to try and narrow down on places to live. I'm currently looking at Coburg, Thornbury or Preston.

Any advice? Places to avoid, places to check out? Thankyou ☺️

Which bit?

For CS2, especially around launch, this was advice fed to me multiple times on places like the linux gaming subreddit. And then also through my own experience of trying it out and comparing.

Black Mesa, this was also just known within the Half Life and Linux gaming communities. Plus if you tried playing the native you would start to hit your first set of visual bugs within the first 5mins, switching to Proton solved basically every issue lol.

And just to add on to this, CS2 has been shown to perform better under Proton than running it natively.

And yes I know before anyone points it out that VAC doesn't work under Proton, but you can still try it out on a private no VAC server. Or, the way some people were doing it around the time CS2 launched (assuming this still works), installing Steam via Wine and then launching CS2 with Proton worked as well with VAC working.

And another example of using Proton over the native version of a game would be Black Mesa, where it was always advised to run the game with Proton due to less bugs and far better performance.

Yeah this is pretty much smack on.

I'm an IT Consultant that works 99% remote (occasionally in the office, but they are trying to get us in more), temp contractors I see tend to have the highest amount of freedom but lose on the job security, us permanent hires have to seek permission to travel and work, but have our job security.

Then there are the client requirements as well, some demand on site consultants every day, others occasionally, then the majority in my experience are more than happy with pure remote work.

Yeah nice, I know the Himalayan, bullet proof bike lol.

And yeah, I'm all too familiar with uncomfortable bikes haha, only ever been on sport bikes or dirt bikes (previous bike was a CBR600RR). I was thinking of potentially picking up a GSXR750 this time, but I wouldn't mind something a bit more upright. So for what I'm used to, the triple is a very comfortable bike lol

Out of curiosity which device is this?

For the accent colours, have you tried pinching your home screen > Wallpaper and style > Colour Pallete? This was changed for me aswell, but was able to switch it back.

For the tint on the lockscreen, have you tried doing the same pinch > Wallpaper and style > Select the lock screen > Effect.

As for the other stuff, were you using Goodlock before? If so, you may just need to open Goodlock again and update the apps in there. Or you will most likely solve your other issues through Goodlock?
