It is scary, less because of AI itself and more because of corporate greed and regular people without critical thinking skills that will blindly trust anything AI tells them. AI is and can be a really useful tool for a lot of scenarios. I use it as a coding assistant for my job almost daily. But I dont blindly accept what it tells me or programs. I test, debug, and research things. Its good for summarization, easy, repetitive tasks, and taking suggestions from the internet.
AI is a tool, and like any tool, it can be really dangerous if you don't use it in a smart way.

I can't help with mods, but other games scratched the same itch for me. The wild era zelda games (breath of the wild & tears of the kingdom) are a dead ringer, and I probably spent over 600 hours across both. The Horizon series (horizon: zero dawn, horizon: forbidden west) are really good. A bit more story than skyrim, less caves, but still lots to do, and if you don't know the story, the first game has so much mystery in its world building thats fun to discover as you play!
I prefer the fantasy genre, so similar sci fi games didnt do it as much for me, but some of the fallout games and the outer worlds games are similar gameplay. The Outer Worlds 1 is basically just Firefly but with less charming characters, but i mean its hard to compete with Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, and Alan Tudyk.

I have to disagree. This quote would be super shitty talking about microtransactions, but if this is about Peak, I dont believe they have any microtransactions in their game. Its the full price of the game. And honestly, if you have friends to play it with, $8 is a steal. Its nothing ground breaking or like world changing, but it's a fun time-waster to spend time with people you like and accomplish a goal with decent replayability.

So sorry for your loss. You're a stronger person than me. My dad passed when I was 16. Liver and kidney failure from alcolishm. We weren't exactly close, and I cant say i liked him at the time, but he was still my dad. I couldn't handle being there in the end. The sounds like you describe them were too much. I never had grief nightmares, but i also haven't had vivid dreams since i was like 10. I did have a few panic / anxiety attacks in the years immediately after, but they stopped pretty quick. I'm about to turn 30, and I promise you, every day gets a little easier. I'm sure your therapist is a better resource, but you ever want to talk to an anonymous stranger, my DMs are open.
Kinda depends on what you want to do with either, as that's a pretty general question. I'm a software engineer primarily full stack web development, and my brother is a day trader, mainly dealing with forex and futures.
If you want to make money, trading probably has a more immediate return, but is a lot more risky, and kinda needs a bit of capital to start. Where as coding might be harder to find "work", but will probably be more stable income once you find a work stream.
Coding has an immensely large amount of different things you can do. It's a generically good tool for problem solving, and it's always good to understand more about how our ever technologically growing world works.
It's also very important to know how you think. From my experience, people who enjoy math and logic puzzles also enjoy coding. But people who enjoyed other subjects in school like chemistry or literature might not find the way of thinking that coding takes to be very enjoyable.

But the castles and walkabke cities, and rolling hills, and so much green instead of brown or yellow! I'm also a fantasy nerd, so I'm a sucker for anything that can have a medieval spin.
Absolutely! I agree that the potion should be a little more expensive. Its just a flat 60 feet no stipulations or concentration. Where the broom is 60 feet, 30 if its carrying over 200 lbs, and you could get knocked off. I also do variants of a lot of potions where they last until a long rest for things like resistance and stat bonuses. For reference, my broom of flying is 125 gp, and my long rest potion of flying is 500 gp.
Oh yeah, I've already gotten a list of items and prices, and I generally followed the price guidelines listed in the DMG (uncommon 100 - 500 gp, rare 500 - 5,000 gp, etc). There were some outliers, but yeah. My biggest worry is that my arbitrary opinions on prices will not vibe with what ither people think. I'm floating ideas of possibly trying to crowd source this to the internet somehow to get people's opinions. Thanks for the feedback!
